It began with a medical mystery
Every healthcare journey is unique. For twelve years, I searched for answers while living with symptoms that touched nearly every part of my life. I moved from specialist to specialist and received diagnoses that later proved incorrect — until I finally found the root cause.
That experience changed how I think about healthcare, both medically and financially.
The questions that shaped AMME Health
I learned firsthand how much it takes to understand insurance, medical bills, claims, FSAs and HSAs. Some of the approaches that helped me feel my best were complementary and alternative therapies, which called for entirely different ways of planning and paying for care. I kept asking:
- How much should I contribute to my HSA?
- Can I use my FSA for this treatment?
- What financial assistance and programs could help?
- How do I see the complete financial picture of my care?
Those questions became the foundation for AMME Health.
Clarity for every patient
I believe every patient deserves to understand the financial side of healthcare with confidence, while leaving the expertise in insurance, billing and benefits to the guides who support them. Healthcare is made up of many disconnected systems. AMME Health is being built to connect them, lighten the mental load and give people clear visibility into their options, financial resources and support networks.
Technology can help people feel more empowered. Healthcare can help people feel more supported. That is the future I hope AMME Health helps co-create.
A lifelong builder
I’ve spent more than two decades designing software, creating products and building teams — as a software engineer and across product design, user experience, quality engineering, project management and Agile coaching — with organizations including Accenture, Ernst & Young, NEC Consulting, Macy’s, Gap and Art.com.
I’m also a community builder. I founded Transition San Francisco, whose San Francisco Seed Library still shares seeds freely today, and ReBenefit / My Own Bag, a reusable bag company that worked alongside the San Francisco Department of the Environment to reduce single-use bags. When reusable bags became widely available, I closed the company — a reminder that enduring work begins with real human challenges and is measured by its positive impact.
Beyond AMME Health
You’ll often find me exploring the intersection of technology, healthcare, systems thinking and human potential — composing music, studying regenerative design, exploring biohacking and integrative health, and spending time in nature. I believe the most meaningful technology begins with empathy and curiosity.
