Careers at AMME Health

Help build a more human financial experience in healthcare.

We’re bringing together thoughtful builders, storytellers, designers and operators to make healthcare easier to understand, navigate and afford.

Our purpose

More than a product

Healthcare often becomes most confusing when people are already under stress. Patients and families may be navigating diagnoses, insurance, claims, bills, benefits, financial assistance and major life decisions at the same time.

AMME Health is building tools that bring clarity to these experiences and help people understand the resources and options available to them. Our founding team will help shape the product, build early relationships and create the systems that allow us to grow responsibly.

Building together

Early-stage ownership, built on contribution

AMME Health is an early-stage, pre-funding startup. We are building our founding team around Mike Moyer’s Slicing Pie model: a dynamic, self-adjusting equity split approach for bootstrapped companies.

Instead of fixing ownership percentages before we know how everyone will contribute, the model tracks the fair-market value of contributions made at risk—such as unpaid time, cash and unreimbursed expenses—and converts them into units called “slices.”

Each person’s share reflects their slices as a proportion of the team’s total. As contributions change, the split adjusts. Under the model, the split typically freezes when the business can fully pay for contributions, through sustainable revenue or sufficient funding.

Your share = your slices ÷ the team’s total slices

For example, 200 slices out of a total of 1,000 represent a 20% share under the model at that point in time—not a permanently fixed percentage.

Our current founding roles are part-time equity-participation opportunities, rather than salaried positions. We’ll discuss availability, how contributions are valued and recorded, and the terms for participation and departures before you begin. Arrangements will be documented in formal agreements and must comply with applicable law. Equity carries risk and does not guarantee future income or value.

The independent advocate opportunity is separate: advocates operate their own practices and set their own rates.

Every intern will have the opportunity to discover where their interests and strengths naturally emerge. Some may spend more time in product, others in research, design, partnerships, content creation, software development or operations.

Our goal is to create an environment where learning, curiosity and contribution grow together.

  • You want to experience the realities of building an early-stage startup.

What you'll gain

  • Direct mentorship from the founder
  • Exposure to every stage of startup building
  • Experience working across multiple disciplines
  • Opportunities to discover your strengths
  • A chance to influence products that may improve healthcare for millions of people
  • Equity participation as part of the founding internship program

Future opportunities

As AMME Health grows, raises funding and generates revenue, internship opportunities may evolve into longer-term or full-time roles based on company needs, performance and mutual interest. We are currently looking for up to three founding interns.

Governance and Compliance Lead

Help AMME Health build trust into its products, partnerships and operations from the beginning. You will shape a practical governance and compliance foundation for an early-stage healthcare technology and financial-wellness startup, working closely with the founder, engineering team and qualified legal advisers.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can turn complex requirements into proportionate policies, clear decisions and everyday practices that protect patients and support responsible growth.

What you may help own

  • Map applicable healthcare privacy, consumer-protection and financial-services requirements to our actual products and activities, with legal counsel where needed.
  • Develop a risk register, compliance roadmap and clear ownership for policies, controls and remediation.
  • Guide HIPAA applicability assessments, privacy-by-design practices, consent, data retention and appropriate business associate agreements.
  • Partner with engineering on access controls, vendor due diligence, incident response and security-assurance readiness, including a proportionate path toward SOC 2.
  • Assess regulatory boundaries around claims support, benefits navigation, financial information and any future payments-related services; coordinate specialist advice before expansion.
  • Create practical governance processes for AI-assisted workflows, including human oversight, transparency, accuracy and sensitive-data handling.
  • Support advocate onboarding standards, ethical conduct, complaint handling and conflicts-of-interest management.
  • Prepare clear governance documentation, compliance training and evidence for partner and investor diligence.

You may be a fit if

  • You have experience in compliance, privacy, governance, risk or legal operations in healthcare technology, fintech or another sensitive-data environment.
  • You understand how to assess regulatory applicability rather than assume every framework applies in the same way.
  • You can translate legal and regulatory guidance into actionable product and operational requirements.
  • You are comfortable building lightweight systems that can mature as a startup grows.
  • You combine sound judgment, attention to detail and a collaborative, patient-centered approach.
  • Experience with HIPAA, US privacy laws, vendor risk, security frameworks or responsible AI is valuable. Credentials such as CHC, CIPP/US, CIPM or equivalent experience are welcome, not required.

Early priorities

  • Understand our current services, data flows and partner relationships.
  • Identify the highest-priority risks and establish a practical compliance roadmap.
  • Align the founder and team on governance responsibilities, core policies and escalation processes.
